Thanks Donna...Sweet Home Alabama It Is

After many attempts to "fix" the computer problem...I think it's finally working.

It's been many days since my trip to Alabama, but I'm still "glowing" from the visit we had with my "treasured" friends and family. While my daughter and I worked on cleaning my Dad's house, my grandson, Aron had a wonderful Saturday exploring the creek below the old garden spot...he and my husband, Dan, found "wormies", "lobsters"(crayfish), "miller flies"?...let's just say various species of "bugs"...not to mention the joy of turning over rocks and logs in the creek and the occasional trip back to the house announcing each find..."Look Mommy!" and Mommy's response would be..."Ohhh...now take him back to his home, okay?" Of course, one of the "lobsters" got away...well, flew away with a little help from Sir Aron as he held it for the first time and its pinchers opened up...Aron freaked out...and that "lobster" was airborne! After the nature hike was over and a quick lunch was eaten, it was time to ride the scooter (actually be "pushed" around the yard on the scooter)...he completely tuckered out Dan and Mema's legs aren't what they used to be...is this what "feeling your age" is all about..whew...I need to rest.
Sunday was extra special...my Dad, Dan and I, and Megan and Aron were able to attend worship together...my friend, Greg, who is recovering from a fatal car accident was able to attend that same Sunday...he is walking with braces on...we are so thankful he's walking and back at worship. Sunday evening was spent visiting and catching up with my wonderful friend, Sherrilline, and her family while Dan tried to recoup at the hotel...he'd been through a long couple of days...
Monday we had just enough time to visit my old workplace, CRMC and visit with a few of the best friends and workmates a girl could ever have...although I didn't get to visit with everyone...it was so wonderful being able to hug the ones I did see...

Joy In Heaven....

Luke 15:10
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

I received a joyful and tear-filled phone call from my daughter late Monday evening...my son-in-law has put on the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
After spending time in study with the minister of the church of Christ in Morgan City, he attended the Monday night service of a gospel meeting being held there...at the close of the service he accepted the invitation to come to Christ, he confessed the name of Christ and was baptized for the remission of his sins...joy in heaven...a new creature on earth...a life given to our Lord.

So thank you so much for your prayers...and please keep him in prayer, for his walk with Christ has only just begun...

April Already?

March left the mountains like a "lion"...winds whipping through the trees...then April arrived, "showering" us with heavy rains, high winds, bright flashes and thundering booms that rattled our windows. I'm praying for fair weather soon...Mema's got a road trip coming up...

I've spent these last few days in deep thought...the week has proved to be a challenge for me...there is trouble in "paradise", not my paradise, but it affects my paradise, because it is my precious children that are suffering. Their world as they know it, is being ripped apart...as I look closely at these troubles, selfishness seems to be at the root of the problem...I'm praying for the Lord's will to be accomplished in their lives...only he knows what is deep inside the heart. Self-less-ness helps protect us from getting into those self-centered thought patterns of "What about me" and "What about my needs" and aids our ability to learn patience and understanding concerning those we share our life with. Please pray.
